Ipe 35# @ 28"

Ipe hickory long bow Black Yew cottage bowyer

Ipe, (ee-pay), a Brazilian cousin of the walnut. It is a very dense, heavy wood, coffee brown, with tight grain. Contrasted with the hickory backing, this make what can be called, "Black Yew". It has the familiar color contrast of the yew bow, but much darker. Ipe is heavy for its size and looks, but can be made into a smaller package. This bow isn't much bigger around in the limbs than your finger, but pulls a full 35#. This is a beautiful example of a "Black Yew" bow ready for target, stump, rendeavouz, SCA, or where ever your archery takes you.

Ipe backed with hickory long bow, American Flat Bow (AFB), board bow, right eye dominant (RED). The bow is 68.5" long when strung. At 35#, this bow meets the minimum draw weight requirement for hunting, in some States. Please check your local laws.
